New Yorkers Diane and Joe Brescia have been enjoying vacations on Aruba for many years. Two years ago, the couple became engaged while on the Island, and decided that this was the perfect locale for a destination wedding. A year later, the planning began with the couple collaborating with Bonny and Nathaly Stanley from Aruba Weddings by Bonny and Nathaly—a local, dynamic mother-daughter duo specializing in destination weddings.
The Hartford, Connecticut couple spent their first vacation together on the island of Aruba—loving it so much that they became members of the Divi Resorts Vacation Club so they could return to Aruba every year. Doing their homework and collecting ideas on destination weddings, they also decided that Aruba would be the ideal location for their dream wedding.
Love at first sight…it may sound cliché, but it was just that for New York couple Katelyn and Sal Bucchio. The second Katelyn saw Sal, she immediately fell head over heels for him. The two met while she was bartending at a restaurant that he was an investor in, and when Katelyn first saw him during a meeting at the restaurant, she said, “He is the one; I am going to marry that man!”
Beach brides Erin and Amanda chose Aruba as the locale for their destination wedding. The wedding was set for October (hurricane season) when Amanda, a school teacher, had a few days off during a fall school break, so weather was a major factor in determining which Caribbean island they would travel to. As an LGBTQ+ couple, safety was another major concern, and Erin’s past trips to Aruba gave her the reassurance that all their guests would feel safe, accepted, and welcome on Aruba.
Erin and Amanda capitalized on the natural beauty of their ceremony and reception setting on the stunning shores of Eagle Beach (one of TripAdvisor’s top beaches in the world), at Divi Aruba’s Sandpiper beach bar and event venue.
Ghislaine and Diederik chose the casually sophisticated environs of Tierra del Sol’s clubhouse as the site of both the ceremony and reception. “We chose Tierra del Sol because we know our choices would be delivered to our standard—from the delicious food to the service—and the location is beautiful on its own,” shared the bride. The ceremony was set on the grassy knoll at the rear of the clubhouse that offers sweeping vistas of the coastline. “The sunset ceremony view created that romantic and classic mood that we were both looking for,” informed Ghislaine.
Chris and Marisa held their beautiful wedding ceremony at the beachfront of The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba. The couple had first met each other in high school and have been dating since then. By the time they got married (which was their "anniversary date" from when they had met) it was 12 years that they have been together.
Jasmine Norwood-Dioulo and Julian Dioulo were recently wed on the splendid shores of Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino’s private island. Jasmine, from California, and Julian, from Texas, met while living and working in Washington D.C. Both were at the same club dancing and, reports Jasmine, the chemistry was instant. Chemistry blossomed into love, with the couple eventually deciding to tie the knot.
