New Yorkers Diane and Joe Brescia have been enjoying vacations on Aruba for many years. Two years ago, the couple became engaged while on the Island, and decided that this was the perfect locale for a destination wedding. A year later, the planning began with the couple collaborating with Bonny and Nathaly Stanley from Aruba Weddings by Bonny and Nathaly—a local, dynamic mother-daughter duo specializing in destination weddings.
The Hartford, Connecticut couple spent their first vacation together on the island of Aruba—loving it so much that they became members of the Divi Resorts Vacation Club so they could return to Aruba every year. Doing their homework and collecting ideas on destination weddings, they also decided that Aruba would be the ideal location for their dream wedding.
Love at first sight…it may sound cliché, but it was just that for New York couple Katelyn and Sal Bucchio. The second Katelyn saw Sal, she immediately fell head over heels for him. The two met while she was bartending at a restaurant that he was an investor in, and when Katelyn first saw him during a meeting at the restaurant, she said, “He is the one; I am going to marry that man!”
Aruba’s florists and wedding and event planners are incredibly creative, offering simple yet tasteful solutions for tight budgets; unique and eclectic creations for those wanting something completely unexpected; colors and décor items that match the overall theme of the wedding; and pure luxury and extravagance for couples wanting an arch that oozes elegant sophistication. We’ve combed through a few past weddings on the island, and created a varied collection to help you with your vision for your destination wedding on Aruba.
Are you in search of that quintessential beach bar experience in Aruba? If sipping a tropical libation or ice-cold local beer while chilling to some island tunes is on your wish-list for your destination wedding or honeymoon, rest assured—Aruba has quite a few to choose from around the island! These beach bars are also great spots for ceremonies, receptions, welcome dinners, and other wedding-related events.
For so many of us, getting married on an island is the ideal destination wedding. Aruba’s beautiful beaches and nearly unending days of sunshine assure flawless nuptials. But nothing can put a little sting into your wedding day than a sunburn. Aruba’s cooling trade winds can be deceiving—those rays are strong and sunscreen is your best friend on the island and should be applied daily while enjoying the outdoors.
