New York Couple’s Dream Destination Wedding

October 20th, 2016

Aruba boasts the highest repeat ratio of visitors in the entire Caribbean.  New York couple Dana and Christopher are no exception—having visited the island five times prior to their wedding here, as well as getting engaged on the island.

“We love the people, the culture, and the weather.” -Dana

The couple’s familiarity with the island prompted them to choose two venues to celebrate their nuptials—the iconic beach setting of Palm Beach for the ceremony and the dramatic views and sophistication of the clubhouse at Tierra del Sol Resort & Golf for the reception.

The groom and groomsmen wore white button down shirts with gray trousers, and the bridesmaids wore blush to coordinate with the gray, blush, and white color theme.

The ceremony was coordinated by the Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino and held beachfront at the resort.  Following the ceremony, a chartered bus from Wix Tours took the guests from Palm Beach to Tierra del Sol for the reception.  The couple used the chic setting of the clubhouse for a small photo shoot while guests enjoyed a premium bar cocktail hour.

A poolside three-course dinner was prepared by the culinary team at The Restaurant at Tierra del Sol, featuring choices like traditional beef tenderloin in a peppercorn sauce and fresh grouper with an authentic island creole sauce.  The bride reports, “the food was out-of-this-world amazing!”

The reception had multiple entertainment components, including a deejay and dancing,
a photo booth, and fresh cigars rolled on site.

[Notes from the Bride]

  • Tierra del Sol's service was beyond perfection.
Coming from NY we have high expectations and we're not that laid back, but Emilio and his staff went above and beyond.

  • Deejay and emcee made the party fun;

we met with him and he knew our style but he played great music and people danced all night.
  • Photo booth was a lot of fun and Kevin & Emily had the best props.
  • Advice for future Aruba brides:
-Lots of wind, do formal pictures inside and make sure your hair is pinned up or it will look like a mess by the reception.
Be careful taking pics so everyone doesn't look like they're in an unflattering wind tunnel in formal pictures.

"We had three days of fun and beautiful weather so Aruba was perfect for a wedding.
We will always love Aruba!"

What our brides are saying

My dad’s favorite ‘paradise’ was always Aruba. Choosing Aruba as the locale for our nuptials was a special way to honor his memory and share this day with him.
